Why review the country and area codes of my contacts?

Ensuring that the country codes are correct is essential to guarantee your messages reach the right recipients. Incorrect formats may result in delivery failures or additional charges.


How to verify and correct the country codes?

Validating country codes

Validation occurs in three main scenarios:

  1. Manual addition of contacts: When creating in the contact base or at the time of delivery.
  2. Bulk contact imports: Uploading a file to the contact base or directly for delivery.
  3. Deliveries to lists created in the contact base.

Always review the number format to avoid additional charges and use the tools available on the platform to make adjustments.

Analysis and validation flows

For .csv files

  1. After importing the file, the number analysis can be enabled or disabled.
  2. If enabled, the platform will present the results for review.
  3. Numbers with errors will display messages requesting adjustments before sending.

For manual contact addition

  1. Insert the numbers and click Analyze and add contacts.
  2. If the numbers are correct, you will be redirected to the delivery summary. Otherwise, the following message will be displayed: "Phone numbers without prefix codes were found. Please review your contact list formatting before proceeding."

Delivery settings: national and international

The SMS credential configuration under Settings > Channels > SMS determines whether the organization can perform national deliveries or deliveries to any country. Only administrators can change these permissions.

National deliveries enabled

They display specific messages about restrictions for international deliveries.

International deliveries enabled

They allow global deliveries, with warnings about the supported countries.


How to correct country codes?

Follow these guidelines to ensure the correct formatting of phone numbers:

  1. Include the country code, the area code, and the complete number.
    • Brazil: 55(XX)XXXXXXXX
    • Argentina549+AAA+XXXXXXXX(always include the number 9 between the country code and the area code)
    • USA: 1(AAA)XXXXXXX(where AAA is the area code)
  2. Check the country code table:
