Templates are pre-approved message models authorized by WhatsApp. In Zenvia Conversion, they are used to start a conversation or reestablish contact after a 24-hour gap since the last interaction.

For example, if your company is offering an exclusive discount coupon for Black Friday, you can easily promote it to all your contacts using templates.

How it works

A template is a requirement of the WhatsApp API for business-initiated conversations, such as messages sent via Zenvia Conversion. After that, you have a 24-hour window to freely interact with your customers in the chat.

These templates, created by you, undergo a content validation process by Meta to ensure their effectiveness. Once approved, they can be used to start conversations with your contact base.

About message templates

Creating templates
To create a new template, access the Zenvia Platform and follow the steps in the article How to register WhatsApp templates.

Template status
Template statuses are available in the Zenvia platform. There, you can track the progress as the status changes from Under review to Approved. Within 24 business hours after WhatsApp approves your new templates, we enable their use in your Zenvia Conversion conversations.

How to start a conversation with a template

To do this, follow these steps:

1. Go to Chats > Inbox > You;

2. Select the desired contact or search in the contact list;

3. Click the message template icon in the contact's chat;

4. Choose a message template to start the conversation and send it to the contact.

Done! Message sent.

Reestablishing contact

Whenever the session expires, use a message template to reestablish contact:

1. Select the desired contact in Chats > Inbox > You;

2. Click the message template icon in the contact's chat;

3. Choose a message template to start the conversation and send it to the contact.

Done! Message sent.
