Bulk SMS sending allows your messages to be read within minutes and has a 90% open rate. This means a higher chance of reaching and engaging recipients. The possibilities are numerous: holidays, enrollment campaigns, welcome and engagement messages, appointment and event reminders.
⚠️ Attention: This feature is available only for users with Operator or Admin profiles.
To send an SMS in Zenvia Customer Cloud, go to Message Broadcast > Broadcast and Automations and select the SMS channel.
Next, follow the steps to build the dispatch. The SMS dispatch summary, located on the right side of the screen, will serve as a guide. Each completed step will be marked with a check icon, indicating the progress of the process.
1. Set up the broadcast

Define the broadcast name. If you prefer, click the X to remove the suggestion and enter the desired name;

Choose a goal for the broadcast. If you have doubts, learn what the ideal goal is for your broadcast;

Select one or more tags to identify your broadcasts. It is possible to add or create new tags.
2. Set up the message
Define the message body. Write manually in the text field or use the icons above the text box to create the message:
To use variables and personalize the message.
To generate the message with Artificial Intelligence.
💡 Tip: Add shortened links to the message to track and monitor clicks. Learn how to shorten links.
⚠️ Attention: The standard SMS supports 160 characters but can be extended with concatenated messages, which join multiple messages into a single SMS. Messages follow character limit rules according to the type of dispatch.
Use message template
Templates are pre-configured models that can be reused multiple times and are useful for standardized content broadcast quickly.
With the SMS template registered:

Click on the icon ;

Select the template;
-
Review the content and click Select template to use it. The message is displayed in the text field.
Personalize message with variables
Variables allow you to personalize information at the time of sending the message, making it specific to each recipient.
To include variables:

Click on the icon ;
-
Select the corresponding value. Choose the variable you want to insert in the message, such as the recipient's name, {{name}}, which will be automatically replaced with each recipient's real name at the time of sending.
It is not possible to count characters with personalized fields because the final size of the message varies according to the value replaced in the variable.
Smart Writer
The Smart Writer uses GPT - OpenAI technology to automatically generate messages. The generated texts are personalized according to the purpose of your communication.
To use it:

Click on the icon ;

Enter your company name and define the objective of your message;

Click Generate text to see the suggestion or Generate another text for a new option.

When choosing the message content, click Use message. The content is displayed in the typing field.
💡 Tip: To reuse the message, select the Save as a template.
Done! With the message content set, click Use message in the broadcast and proceed to choosing the recipients.
3. Select the contacts
Validate your contacts by selecting the destination countries to ensure proper message delivery and avoid unexpected charges. Then, choose the recipients: you can send to contacts from your database, upload from a .csv file, or add manually.
Select from contact database
Choose lists, specific contacts, or segmentation rules from your contact database:

Click Select contacts;

Select the list, specific contacts, or segmentation rules;

When finished, click Select and continue.
Done, your users have been added!
Upload contacts file
Upload a .csv spreadsheet with the contacts.
⚠️ Attention: Sends with variables must be done via .csv. The file needs to:

Be in .csv, encoded in UTF-8.
-
Have phone numbers in the first column.
-
Include a header in the first row with the variables.
-
Have one contact per line, in the DDI+DDD format.
-
Contain up to 120 MB.
Example: For "Hello {{name}}! Your appointment is scheduled for {{date}} at {{time}}", the file should have columns for Name, Date, and Time.

With the file set up:

Click Upload file;
-
Drag and drop the file or select it manually;

Associate the variable fields with the corresponding values, i.e., indicate what each field in the imported spreadsheet represents;

Enable the Analyze .csv file option to review your file and check if it is ready for use.

When finished, click Continue broadcast.
Add contacts manually
Enter the numbers manually in the DDI+DDD+9 digits format, separated by semicolons:

Click Add manually ;
-
Enter the phone numbers;
-
Click Add contacts to complete the action;
Done! With the message content and recipients set, click Next to choose when the sending will occur.
Send or schedule broadcast
Select one of the broadcast options to complete the sending process:

Broadcast now for immediate send.

Schedule broadcast to set a date and time.
-
Broadcast at the best time to send when your contacts are most active.
💡 Tip: Split the sending into batches, if needed.
